Yes I did see Get Him to the Greek, and no I will not talk about the movie nor the Chicago ’s Greek town. I started with Greek because what I call the “A” word, which is on every lawyer’s lips, came to us from Greece. Why from Greece? Well…The word asbestos derives from the ancient Greek word αμίαντο or ΑΜΙΑΝΤΟΣ “inextinguishable, unquenchable”
Move the clock back around 2300 years to 300 B.C. and we will discover that Greeks already had a name for this magical material, and if you would guess that is sounded really close to what we call ASBESTOS you would be right.
